Fundraising at Wat Bovonives, Bangkok
On 21 June 2005 there
will be a fundraising event at Wat Bovonives, the residence
of His Holiness the Sangharaja of Thailand, to raise fund
to help the newly established Oxford Buddha Vihara repay
its mortgage.
The event will be
organised by a committee, which is chaired by the Most Venerable
Phra Phrommuni, the deputy abbot of Wat Bovonives and Mr.
Aphisit Vejjajiva, an Oxford graduate who is also leader
of Democrat Party.
The event will take
place in the Ubosot or Chapter Hall of Wat Bovonives, beginning
at 13.30pm on Sunday 21 June.
You are welcome to
participate and support the founding of the first ever Theravada
Buddhist temple in Oxford. As you know, the Oxford Buddha
Vihara was founded nearly two years ago, when a semi-detached
house was bought with a loan from a bank. Now, the Oxford
Buddha Vihara is paying nearly 1,500 Pounds monthly to the
bank. The fund raised at this function will go to repaying
this mortgage, which is currently 250,000 Pounds.
