Oxford Buddha Vihara Kathina Ceremony

Oxford Buddha Vihara Kathina Ceremony

We hope this letter finds you well. We would like to cordially invite you to join us in the meritorious robe-offering ceremony (Kathina), which will take place at Tingewick Hall, John Radcliffe Hospital on Sunday 29th October 2023.

As we all know, Kathina ceremony is a significant tradition in Theravada Buddhism, where we come together to offer robes and support to the monastic Sangha. It is a time for reflection, spiritual growth, and acts of generosity.

There will be an alms-round during which devotees can offer food to the venerable monks who will grace the ceremony. This act of generosity not only brings joy to our hearts but also a means to accumulate merits and cultivate virtues.
